THIS SITE IS STARTING TO BLOW!!!!

Cbssports.com is quickly becoming a very crappy site to post on.  I for one don't care about the ranking system because it mean NOTHING.  What does bother me are the whiney crybabies on the site who have been putting up the BLAH BLAH BLAH posts and repeating the same posts.  I cannot find any THREADS worth a crap on the Yankees board which is usually very helpful and productive.  Instead the there are only 3 post in the TOP FIVE posts.  Two of them are duplicates by the same person who just happened to cut and past newspaper articles.  It has actually made the Yankees boards POINTLESS to read.

CBS admins stated that the changes that were made were made to help with the rush of fans following baseball.  Well they need to monitor the baseball boards a bit better.  This site has completely gone down the crapper in my personal opinion. Admins need to WAKE THE F*** UP and start being admins.  There are posts that have nothing to do with sports, but they remain.  There are duplicate posts by the same poster, yet they remain and are rewarded for the posts to help in the rankings.

I have said my piece and want to hear yours.

Give me a shout!

A-Rods apology

<p style="font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000; font-size: 12px;">

What does everyone think about Alex Rodriguez's apology that was made yesterday regarding his performance enhancing drug (PED's) usage? Personally, I don't think that it is fair that he was singled out of the "CONFIDENTIAL" study to see how prevalent usage was in baseball.  If his name was released, like Curt Schilling said, "release ALL the names of the people in that study" along with their results.  As a Yankees fan, and a fan of the sport in general, I think that A-Rod's name was released because he is a high profile player.  He stated that he had only used for 3 years and only a couple of times per month.  I think he may have used more often, but that brings me to the second point that I wanted to make.

I understand that PED's (like HGH and steroids) enhance CERTAIN abilities like strength, speed, and recovery time.  HOWEVER, I don't think that they improve eye sight.  What I mean by that is that, I don't believe they help a hitter see the ball better.  To do what Barry Bonds did, was an amazing feat.  I think that the PED's helped get quite a few of them over the wall, but he still needed to be able to see the ball and have it make contact with the bat.  It is this part that I don't believe PED's help with.

I don't like the idea of PED's in ANY sport, but the sad fact is that they are more prevalent than most people thought.  This is what the "study" that A-Rod was in was designed to detect.  It wasn't to find out who was using and who wasn't.  How you people feel if drug companies put you into a study that was to be "CONFIDENTIAL" and then a few years later they released the information to the public that you took place in the study.

I think that people like Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Barry Bonds, A-Rod, Roger Clemens, and Andy Pettite should be have been disciplined HAD THEY BEEN CAUGHT WHILE PLAYING.  That raises the question of a statute of limitation on PED usage.  In these tough economic times (I know I know you are tired of hearing this), why is congress WASTING its time with Baseball PED usage and not working to fix IMPORTANT things like the economy, job market, homelessness?

Steroids and other PED's have dominated any talk of baseball over the past several years.  I know I get the point. It's prevalent (got it), big names use it (got it), should there be an asterisks in the record books (got it).  It is always the same discussions over and over and over again.  I am tired of hearing it, so...........

LET'S ACCEPT THE PAST AS THE PAST AND MOVE FORWARD!!!!!

The ignorance of some members

I have been posting on the boards for about a year now and love the intelligent conversations that are to be had with MOST people.  Two of my favorite teams' boards have been taken over by people who are sooooo consumed with their ratings that they are RUINING the boards by continuous posts of repetitive "blah blah blah" simply to get high scores on posts.

To me this seems really immature and takes the fun out of the boards.  If the admins are concerned about a certain number of individuals in rankings, then get rid of the people who are either inactive or who make ignorant posts.

I don't know if I am the only one who thinks that things are getting ridiculous, but I did want to say it and point it out in case others haven't had the "pleasure" of running across these posts.

Let me know what you guys think.  Whether you agree or disagree is fine with me.

My last days as a free man!!!

Well I have only a few days of freedom left.  After 12 years in a relationship, I am finally getting married.  This coming Sunday, 7/13, is my last day of freedom.  And you know what, I couldn't be happier.  I actually landed the girl of my dreams.

I am not sure how this is going to impact my career as a sports poster on the boards, but time will only tell.  For all the baseball fans out there you know I am crazy in LOVE if I am not watching the All-Star game and Homerun Derby because of my honeymoon.  I so wanted to watch it this year, but alast I will be on the beach in Bermuda.

All I have to say is that I cannot wait till Sunday.  Just wanted all to know that I will be off the boards for a while, but hopefully not too long.

Wish me luck.

Great city rivalries

I have to say that I think some of the absolute best sports rivalries are between New York and Boston.  In almost all sports these to cities pretty much hate each other.  One of the things that I have always wondered is; why do fans have anomosity towards the other fans?  I was at a Giants/Titans game when the fans started to chant Eagles Suck!!.  To me this makes no sense.  Is this only a New York/New Jersey thing or do other rival teams fans do the same?

Here are my top 5 city rivalries.

1) NY-NJ/Boston Baseball, Football, Hockey

2) Chicago and Greenbay Football

3) NY-NJ and Philly Football, baseball, hockey basketball

4) Boston and LA Basketball

5) Any intercity rivalries (NY/NY, NY/NJ/ Chicago, LA)

I am interested in what you all think.  Let me know.
